Working with context

Context is the set of blocks a tool can see when it runs. Choosing it well is the single most useful habit in the product.

Selection is explicit

Nothing is sent implicitly. You select the blocks that should inform a generation, and those are what the model receives — along with the project description and the provenance attached to each block.

More is not better

Model accuracy on a specific fact within a long input follows a U-shaped curve: strong at the beginning, strong at the end, weakest in the middle. Handing over everything you have reliably buries the thing you needed most.

Four well-chosen blocks routinely outperform forty. This is why the product asks you to curate rather than offering to ingest the lot.

A working method

  • Start from the output: what does this draft actually need to know?
  • Prefer extracted passages to whole documents.
  • Include the counter-evidence deliberately — it will not be inferred.
  • Save the selection if you expect to rerun it.
